Between 1 and 6 October, 2,576 entries from 42 countries competed for awards at the 13th Golden Drum Festival in Portorož.
Slovenia has won one silver and five bronze prizes, and an award for the best poster, with eleven entries making it to the finals. Futura DDB won the Bronze Drum Award in the Design & Art Direction category for the Večni koledar ("Everlasting Calendar") commissioned by the Belinka company. The calendar has also been awarded for outstanding creativity by the D&AD Agency in 2006. In the Media Campaigns category, Futura DDB was the only Slovenian agency to be short-listed with its media campaign entitled Prepozno ("Too Late") for ice creams of the Ljubljanske mlekarne dairy company.
Fingerprints, the graphic symbols of this year’s festival entitled Magic Touch, represented the personal trace that the friends and co-workers, who have helped create the festival, left on the image and the content of the Golden Drum. One of the 10,000 fingerprints was left there by Žare Kerin, Creative Director of Futura DDB.
