The Velika kuharska zbirka cookbook collection by Futura has made it into the second leg of the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2006 Contest, competing in the Series of Food category. The winner will be selected by a international jury of Dun Gifford, Jean Jacques Ratier, Bo Masser, and the chairman Edouard Cointreau, who also instigated the competition. The list of all applicants and finalists will be available in January at www.cookbookfair.com, while the final winner will be announced in April 2007 at a gala award ceremony in Beijing, China.
THE GOURMAND WORLD COOKBOOK AWARDS 2006 is an international competition for the best book or book collection on food and wines. There are 48 categories, 34 for books and 14 for wines. The competition is the brainchild of Edouard Cointreau, who first organised the event eleven years ago, to honour all those who "cook with words", and give readers the insight into the best cookbooks published every year.
